Bleak

Bleak was a Chrome extension that paired local weather updates with dry, cynical commentary. Animated SVG icons showed current conditions, while hand-written, sarcastic one-liners offered a darker take on the day.

A five-day forecast gave users a single (bleak) word for each upcoming day. Users could switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, or change their location by clicking the city name. Long before AI-generated content, every line was manually written and stored in a Google Doc. Bleak made checking the weather feel just a little more hopeless—and weirdly enjoyable.
